The efficiency and environmental impact of endothermic engines are topics of increasing importance. In this context, emission meters play a crucial role in monitoring and quantifying the pollutant emissions generated during the operation of endothermic engines.

In the context of Engine Test Cells, Rollers or Powertrains, Control Sistem, as a General Contractor, and thanks to its wide network of suppliers, has the opportunity to identify and supply the most suitable pollutant emission analysers for specific testing or homologation needs, basing its choices on the expected measurement ranges and technologies imposed by emission regulations.

As far as the analysis of gaseous pollutants is concerned, Control Sistem is able to supply any type of analyser of CO, CO2, CH4, THC, NOx, N2O, NH3, etc., and to design and build the necessary dilution and sampling systems required by emission regulations for homologation purposes (CVS: Constant Volume Sampler). As far as the analysis of particulate emissions is concerned, Control Sistem can provide both systems for the measurement and analysis of PN (particulate matter in terms of particle number), and PM sampling systems (particulate matter by mass). For this second specific case, Control Sistem has a product, entirely designed and built in-house, now consolidated for some time and present at the main plants of the vehicular approval bodies: the PSS-20 (Particle Sampling System).

All pollutant analysers are designed to comply with the high temperatures and pressures typical of endothermic engine exhaust gases. The analysis instruments are also supplied with the necessary sampling probes and the appropriate calibration certificates required by emission regulations.
