From 2018 to 2022, Control Sistem leaded and realized two laboratories (VELA) dedicated to the surveillance on the market of the engine vehicles, according to the new UE 2018/858 Regulation, born after the Dieselgate scandal. The 1st of April 2022 the inauguration of the two laboratories took place.
Thanks to the two laboratories, JRC (Joint Research Centre) can increase its efficiency and capacity of surveillance. The two test cells and the related Soak Areas and Control Rooms are equipped with all the instrumentation requested by the UE regulations related to pollutant emission control, starting from the 4×4 chassis-dyno test benches, passing through the sampling systems, up to the instruments of analysis.
The two test cells can simulate the real driving conditions also at different ambient conditions (temperature range between -10°C and +50°C) and pressure conditions: one of the two test cells (VELA 10) allows the change of the altimetric conditions, thanks to ACVS (one of the simulators in Control Sistem catalogue).
